Imagine cycling through the French countryside under clear blue skies surrounded by fields of lavender. At the end of the day, you're told the only restaurant around is 2km up the road in a disused railway station. You carry on and you're not sure if you've found it. It looks like an old station but there is no one around. The door is old and battered, with what looks like an old Michelin star stuck to the glass? Eventually cars start arriving and we are not the only ones who enjoy a wonderful night sitting under an old tree surrounded by fairy lights and enjoying wonderful food. I have no idea the name of the dish I ate: beautifully tender beef, fragrant with herbs and fresh orange, drizzled with a delicious red wine sauce. We have called it Cruzy beef. Cruzy was the name of the little town nearby. We hope it has you dreaming of the French countryside and magical nights.
